Lockdown Again!! 5th November - 2nd December

Last night Boris announced National Lockdown No 2 to initially run from November 5th - December 2nd.

The following details are the new restrictions. there may be changes as more info comes to light and we will update accordingly.

Stay at home except for the following reasons

  • childcare or education, where this is not provided online

  • for work purposes if you cannot work from home (including if your job involves working in other people’s homes)

  • to exercise outdoors or visit an outdoor public place - with the people you live with, with your support bubble or, when on your own, with 1 person from another household.

  • for medical appointments and emergencies, or to avoid or escape risk of injury or harm - such as domestic abuse

  • shopping for food and medicine.

  • to visit members of your support bubble* or provide care for vulnerable people, or as a volunteer

You should Social Distance, wear a mask and wash your hands regularly.

You cannot meet socially indoors with family or friends unless they are part of your household or support bubble*.

You can only meet 1 person from outside your household outside for exercise and must keep socially distanced.

Child carers are still able to go to work and currently schools and Early Years Settings will remain open.

Parents are also able to form a childcare bubble with another household for the purposes of informal childcare, where the child is 13 or under.

When meeting one other person from outside your household outdoors children under school age will be exempt from the rule. This means that a parent can see a friend or family member with their baby or young children.

Children and adults who are dependent on round-the-clock care, such as those with severe disabilities, will also not be included in the number.

Places that must close

  • Hospitality venues like restaurants, bars and pubs. However they can provide takeaway and delivery services.

  • Indoor and Outdoor leisure facilities such as bowling alleys, leisure centres and gyms, golf courses, soft play facilities, climbing walls and theme parks,

  • Theatres, concert halls, cinemas, museums, casinos, arcades, bingo halls, zoos and other animal attractions, botanical gardens

  • Hair, and Beauty salons, tattoo parlours, spas, massage parlours, body piercing services, and tanning salons.

Places that can remain open

  • Playgrounds

  • Essential shops such as supermarkets, chemists.

  • Garden Centres

  • Hardware stores

  • Banks

  • Petrol Stations and garages

  • Post Offices

  • Medical facilities

Guidance on care home visits will be published this week.

You should not travel in or out of your local area unless for work, education, essential shopping or medical reasons.

There will be further guidance issued in due course

*A support bubble is where a household with one adult can join with another household. Households in that support bubble can still visit each other, stay overnight, and visit outdoor public places together. Once in a support bubble you cannot change that bubble.
