Registration is free and we can help you update your First Aid and arrange a DBS check if required.

We will liaise with you at all stages of your job search and are on hand to offer any advice you may need.

Registration Requirements

You will need to provide the following

Photo I.D (passport/driving licence )
Childcare Qualifications (if held)
Right to work
2 contactable recent references
Proof of address
Paper copy of your Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
Paediatric First Aid Certificate
Ofsted Certificate (if registered)
Up to date CV

If you are in need of an up to date DBS or first aid certificate just let us know and we can help you obtain them.

DBS

Everyone registering with us must already have or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

We are able to apply for a DBS on your behalf when you register with us.

The online disclosure usually comes back within a week but can take up to 12 weeks.

When you apply for your next DBS we request that you subscribe to the update service.

Ofsted Registration

It is not a legal requirement for Nannies to be on the Ofsted Childcare Register however if parents wish to use the Tax Free Childcare scheme then the Nanny will need to become registered and we recommend the parents pay for this.

The Nanny will need to register as a Home Childcarer and will need the following: a recognised childcare qualification,

a paediatric first aid certificate, a DBS check on the update service and Public Liability Insurance

Nannies from Overseas

All Nannies that register with Nanny Scout are required to have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

This disclosure does not check any criminal records held outside of the UK.

If you would like to register with us and have lived outside of the UK you will need to provide a criminal record check or a Certificate of good character from your home country. This will also need to be officially translated into English.
