Our First Wedding

A few months ago Nanny Scout was just an idea in our heads. We had a vision of the service we wanted to provide and were busily putting it all together and thinking of names.

I was asked by a parent whose children i have cared for on and off for the past 10 years if i would provide childcare at her wedding. I explained to her what i was doing and she was delighted to become our first official booking.

Over the next few months the wedding was planned. The venue was Danesfield House in Marlow on Easter Weekend. There were to be approx 24 children ranging from babies to 16 years old so i definitely needed help! I swiftly booked 2 nannies to help me before they decided Bank Holiday weekend was a perfect time to go away.I was kept informed of the days events by Amelia the Wedding Planner. Sharky & George were coming along to entertain the children for a couple of hours and there was to be an Easter themed photo booth for the children.

After the ceremomy and photos we collected the children and brought them to our base in the Chiltern Suite. Sharky & George consisted of 3 amazing guys who organised an Easter Egg Hunt complete with the Easter Bunny, giant Jenga, rocket launching and parachute games. Luckily for us it wasn't raining so we had an amazing time helping the children chase the Easter Bunny around the maze hunting for chocolate eggs. We then returned inside for some games before heading to the lawn for the rockets launching. The children all had great fun and had worked up an appetite for the Wedding Breakfast. We quickly grabbed some tea and biscuits and the hotel staff transformed the Suite into a cosy room for the evening. We had comfy sofas, beanbags, blankets, DVDs and plenty of Arts & Crafts to keep the children entertained. The childrens buffet was set up for us and the staff kept us all supplied with drinks. Many of the older children wanted to be on the dance floor with the grown ups so i just made sure they didnt get up to any mischief. The younger children were happy to do endless pictures and snugggle up to watch DVDs with a hot chocolate.

After a long day for all the children were collected at Midnight - 2 of them were very pleased to still be awake. The Bride and Grooms children said goodnight to all and i took them up to the the room we were sharing. We arrived to find the Easter Bunny had been and left us all a present! I tucked 2 very tired children into bed and then snuggled up myself. It was a beautiful venue for a very special day.

It was a pleasure to be a part of it and i hope the Bride and Groom enjoy their Honeymoon. Thankyou to all the staff at Danesfield House, no request was too much trouble. Sharky & George were great to work with. Well done Amelia for such meticulous planning.

My Easter Bunny is now saying Eat Me!!!
