Furlough Extended to March 2021

The Governnment announced earlier today that the Furlough Scheme will be extended until March with employees receiving 80% of their current salary for hours not worked.

The scheme will pay up to 80% of a person's wage up to £2,500 a month with a review of the policy in January. The revised scheme also means that anyone made redundant after 23rd September can be rehired and put on furlough.

Who can be furloughed?

Employees can be furloughed whether they are on full-time, part-time, agency, flexible or zero-hour contracts.

However, they must have been on the payroll by 30th October 2020. They do not need to have been previously furloughed.

Employees who were employed and on the payroll on 23rd September who were made redundant can be re-employed and put on furlough.
